Notes:
n1/ As of February 2021, the Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC) publishes the Consumer Price Index (CPI) with a new base (December 2020), which begins in January 2021. To avoid a break in the continuity of the series of the Regulated (R), Non-Regulated (NR), Goods and Services price indices, the BCCR “linked” the level of those indicators from December 2020 backwards with the behavior of the prices of the indices with previous bases.
n2/ In addition to the "link", the BCCR modifies the series of the R and NR indices for the period December 2016 to December 2020. The foregoing is due to the fact that (i) the price of residential Internet service ceased to be regulated on 11/23 /2016 and (ii) the price of Mobile Telephony was released on 09/18/2017, changes that are not reflected in the previously published series.
n3/ To classify CPI items as "goods" or "services," the BCCR uses the Central Product Classification (CPC), while the INEC does so with the Classification of Individual Consumption by Purposes (CCIF).
n4/ In November 2023, the BCCR corrects the Regulated and Non-regulated data for the period August 2022 to October 2023.
