n1/ For the year 2010, the blank boxes correspond to data that will be presented later when the INEC prepares these figures.
n2/ Beginning on 2010, with the application of the National Household Survey (ENAHO), which replaces the Multi-Purpose Household Survey (EHPM), a series of methodological changes were made that imply that as of this year, the absolute values are not comparable with data from previous years. One of the main changes is that the working-age population is now measured as people aged 15 years and over, when previously it was defined as the population aged 12 and over.
n3/ The invisible underemployment, total underemployment and total underutilization rates have not yet been calculated by the INEC. When such data is available, they will be placed in this data frame.
n4/ The Central Bank of Costa Rica uses as official employment figures those generated from the Continuous Employment Survey. See link below.
